Wai Tai is a small whānau-owned business based in Kaitaia, located in the heart of the Far North, where pristine coastlines and a connection to the moana inspire everything we do.

I hail from Motukiore, Waima, Te Mahurehure, along the shores of the Hokianga Harbour. Raised in the North, I grew up immersed in the ocean and the lifestyle that comes with it; surfing, fishing, diving, paddling, and enjoying everything the coast has to offer.

This deep connection drives the kaupapa of Wai Tai and the designs I create. From my own home office, every piece of clothing is designed, pressed, and packed with care. Drawing on te reo Māori, coastal culture, and a love for timeless design, I create high-quality kākahu that seamlessly blend functionality with style; perfect for anyone who shares a passion for the sea and its surroundings.

Wai Tai was born out of a desire to celebrate our connection to the ocean and the lifestyle it inspires. It’s more than just clothing, it’s a reflection of a way of life and a tribute to those who embrace the beauty, freedom, and energy of coastal living.
